Hey guys, I’m Brad, studying at UQ in Brisbane, and I’m really struggling with essay writing this semester. It feels like no matter how much time I spend on it, I’m just not getting the grades I need. My biggest issue is figuring out how to develop my arguments properly. Anyone else going through this? What are you doing to improve?

I usually start with my thesis, but I think I might be overcomplicating it. Sometimes I find myself changing my thesis halfway through writing, which messes everything up. How do you make sure your thesis is solid from the start? Do you do a lot of planning before you start writing?
Hey Brad! I totally get where you're coming from—essay writing can be really challenging, especially when it comes to developing strong arguments. I used to struggle with that too. One thing that really helped me was focusing on building a solid thesis statement first, and then making sure each paragraph tied back to it. It also helps to read your essays out loud to catch any gaps in logic.
